EU EBRD Energy Efficiency Finance Facility Romania

Welcome to the EU EBRD Energy Efficiency Finance Facility

EEFF - the EU EBRD Energy Efficiency Finance Facility - is a grant-supported financing line for Romania from the European Commission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Private sector companies in Romania may identify and finance energy efficiency investment opportunities using:

Free expert technical consultancy to plan an energy efficiency investment;
Loans of up to 2.5 million EUR per company from participating banks to finance the investment;
15% EU grants - up to 375,000 EUR per grant - when the investment is complete.

Each participating bank has an energy efficiency loan product with its own web page - click the logos to see.

The EEFF package includes free technical consultancy from:

Tractebel Engineering - who helps you to plan your energy efficiency investment and apply for your loan; and
MWH - who verifies when your investment is complete, based on which EBRD pays your EU grant.

So far, the EEFF has been used to finance 83 energy efficiency investment projects with a combined value of 59.5 million Euro, by companies from a wide range of sectors, such as:
